Morning Rush Makeup Tips

“I just want to feel good throughout the day - but I don’t have time!”

Sound familiar?

I’ve got good news for all you chronically rushed beauties out there. Whether it be the hustle and bustle of a busy household or lost time from hitting the snooze button one too many times, it doesn’t have to take a long time to pull a look together.

Now before I get into how to achieve look good, feel good makeup in less than five minutes, I want to quickly remind you of something.

You are totally entitled to take a few extra minutes for yourself in the morning. If you often end up feeling stressed and frazzled because you aren't feeling put together, making time is worth it. It isn't vanity to take 10-15 minutes on your makeup if it is going to make you feel better throughout the day.

Allow yourself those moments when you can - and try to enjoy them!

Now back to my morning rush tips for when making the time is out of the question. Here’s the ultimate secret to a speedy look: face-framing finishes.

Most of us have the tendency to grab for our foundation bottle in a rush to try brush over our underslept faces when really, we should be focus our limited time on the details.

My go to three areas to focus are: eyebrows, eyelashes, and lips. Only once those bases are covered should you go back in to add bonuses such as a light layer of cc cream or powder.

Keep reading to why you should focus on each of these. It will take you less than the five minutes too!
1. Eyebrows

Starting with brows is one of the quickest ways to freshen up your face in the morning. Grab your favourite brow gel or pencil and start by filling in any sparse areas. Then use it to define the overall shape of the arch and to tame any hairs that look out of place. Brush the product in in the same direction as your hair growth for a natural look.

Filling in your eyebrows will make you look more alert, more youthful, a little fresher, and can allow you to look put together with less makeup overall. This first face-framing step adds dimention to your face and draws the attention to your beautiful eyes.
2. Mascara

Once your brows are filled and shaped, it's time to add more dimension to your eyes where your brows will draw attention. Not only does it darken the lashes, but it provides length and volume which can make your eyes look bigger.

The bigger your eyes look, the more structured and bright they will appear. This simple step will help you make confident moves when keeping eye contact with others as you move throughout your day.
3. Lips

Finally, it's time to add some colour to your lips. I always recommend using a liquid lipstick for quick flawless execution that will last all day. The lipstick you add will brighten up your smile and add polished definition to complete the face framing trio.

This is the easiest of the three to keep handy to touch up throughout the day. If chosen correctly, the colour you apply can enhance your complexion naturally without the need of blush.
4. Bonus

Once you've successfully made your way those three face framing steps and are starting to feel more ready for the day, now is your chance to add in anything else you might like to finish off the look.

I like to refer to these as bonuses. While they aren't necessary for this rushed morning routine, if you have the time, why not add in a few extra steps to elevate your look!

Try adding a quick layer of CC cream, concealer, face powder, or blush.

And, I just know that once you feel amazing in yourself each day, you’ll feel even more ready to accomplish your to-do list and smash through your ambitious goals.

I believe beautiful makeup that feels true to you has less to do with how you look and more to do with how you feel and the opportunities you say yes to as a result.
